What is French Linen Bedding?

Linen is made from fibres that grow inside the stalks of the flax plant. They are woven to create a textile that is much stronger, but just as soft as cotton, making it an excellent choice for everyday use in home items like bedding. French linen bedding has a lovely textural feeling but it is also very absorbent and wicks away sweat as you sleep, making for a cool and restful night even in hot weather - perfect for bedding in Australia.

What is the Best Quality Bed Linen?

High quality real-flax linen will have beautiful natural creases, so the 'wrinkled' texture is actually a mark of excellent quality. High-quality flax linen is sturdy and has a distinct texture that will get softer over time. Belgian or French linen is considered premium, but several other countries grow high quality linen as well.

How to wash your French Bed Linen

Our French linen bedding can be washed in a standard washing machine, but separate them from other fabrics if possible, and separate into lights and darks. Wash on a cold gentle cycle with a delicate detergent and no bleach. To hand wash, soak our French linen bedding in cold water and a little detergent for 10 minutes. Do not twist or scrub the fabric, as this can damage the linen fibres. Rinse, and line dry. Although French linen stays fresh longer than many synthetic fabrics, it is recommended that you wash your bedding weekly. Plus, there’s nothing more indulgent than sliding between fresh, clean sheets in anticipation of a good night’s sleep.
