Welcome to this week’s Chapter 3.
Last week, Eadie had impulsively taken a letter from Kenji’s desk, hoping to discover an explanation to the mystery surrounding him, and what role the recipient of so many letters marked “return to sender”, played in Kenji’s life .
YOU overwhelmingly chose for Eadie NOT to read the letter, and to let the truth unfold should Kenji chose to confide in Eadie.

Kenji – Chapter 3
Eadie sat on the edge of the sofa, her mind churning with conflicting emotions. The envelope in her handbag was a source of forbidden intrigue, pulling at her with the promise of unseen truths. Kenji’s footsteps echoed from the stairwell, each step drawing him closer to the moment of truth.
With a decisive breath, Eadie retrieved the letter from her bag and quickly, but carefully, slid it back into the pile. She chose trust over curiosity, wanting to believe in the goodness she had seen in Kenji’s eyes. Despite the lingering questions, she resolved to let him share his secrets when he was ready.
As Kenji entered the studio, his expression was relaxed, the earlier tension forgotten. "Sorry about that," he said, his smile warm and inviting. "Now, where were we?", refilling their glasses with wine. Their conversation resumed, seamlessly picked up amid discussions of art, life, and the whimsy that had drawn them together in the first place. Yet the spectre of the letters remained, and with it, the possibility that Kenji’s past might yet weave its way into their present.
Later that night, as Eadie left the studio and wandered through the glowing streets of Tokyo, she felt a familiar buzz in her pocket. Her phone vibrated with a new message: an unknown number. The text was cryptic: "You chose wisely tonight. Not everyone is who they seem."
The message sent a shiver down her spine. It was as if someone had been watching her—a mysterious figure who knew more than they let on. Could Kenji’s secret be deeper and more precarious than she had imagined? The stakes had changed, and Eadie was now playing a part in a story whose ending she couldn't foresee.
Should Eadie respond to this cryptic text, or should she block the number and stand firm in her decision to get to know Kenji on her own terms?
Let us know here.
