A Day In The Life of Eadie - Chapter One

Designing the Eadie Collection brings me so much joy. As some of you may be aware, I step into the character of Eadie, a free spirited, sophisticated and elegantly bohemian woman who lives a very large and interesting life. Eadie is my creative muse and provides the creative compass for all our collections.

I would love to share with you some of the journeys Eadie takes me on!  We will be releasing a weekly short story, straight from Eadie’s amazing life, and invite you to be part of the next chapter in Eadie’s ongoing adventures. Simply reply with your thoughts on what you think Eadie should do next.

This week, Eadie encounters the suave and mysterious artist, Kenji. Should Eadie follow her heart and accept his invitation, or should she stay firm and listen to the logic of her head…. You decide.

Chapter One

The gallery buzzed with an air of sleek sophistication, the white walls barely containing the vibrant surge of energy exuded by Yurie Nagashima’s striking imagery. Yurie had been a great friend of Eadie’s since the late 80’s when they shared an apartment in New York. Yurie had since returned to her native Tokyo and was now a celebrated international photographer, artist and writer. Eadie had flown in the night before, to celebrate her dear friend’s exhibition opening.

Ethereal light filtered through the high windows, casting a soft glow over the bohemian elegance of the guests. Parisian scarves mingled with silk kimonos, while conversations flowed like fine wine, weaving stories that spanned continents.

As she admired a striking monochrome piece, her eyes caught a presence across the room—Kenji. He was poised and magnetic, a walking piece of art himself with his glistening jet-black hair cascading to his shoulders. Their eyes met, an instant spark igniting between them. His confident stride brought him to her side, and with a gentle smile, he extended his hand. "Eadie, isn't it?  Yurie mentioned you," he said in a voice that was both soothing and intriguing.

He seemed to belong, as much to the exhibit as to this world of mystery and art. His presence was magnetic, his voice as captivating as the art around them—smooth, deep, yet elusive. Intrigued, Eadie felt a pull, a yearning to know more.

As the evening turned to shadow, Kenji broached the suggestion, "Would you join me at my studio for a nightcap? It's not far from here; we could continue this conversation."

Eadie hesitated, caught between the flutter of her adventurous spirit and the unknown future this invitation whispered about. As their eyes locked, the room breathed with unspoken tension, leaving her answer suspended in the electric air.

Should Eadie accept or decline Kenji’s invitation?
